We just got back from our marathon Michigan vacation. We spent the week camping in great grandma Haigh's RV up in Northern Michigan. We had some "unseasonable" weather--i.e. really cold and rainy--I'm convinced it's always like that up there and Michiganites are all just repeating the party line, telling everyone how unusual it is to try to convince us to come back :) Here are some random highlights of our trip. I didn't do a spectacular job of taking pictures....I guess we were all just having too much fun to document everything!
Henry peaking out of the RV window.
The Chipmunk Incident--the boys caught this poor little guy in an old fashioned box propped up with a stick and a pull string method......David kept calling it a "chipmonkey" which was way too cute to correct.....
Here they are tormenting and eventually freeing the poor little guy. Apparently David was under the impression it would come back to his cage willingly after he had his taste of freedom.....
I got motion sick after about 10 seconds of being out on the water and abandoned my kayaking attempt....pathetic, I know.......
Henry, really enjoying our day of shopping....
Henry in the oh-so-helpful dog pen that Rebekah brought....
Poor Henry, he didn't really like the pen, but he would tolerate it if I threw him crackers :)
David loved his cousins who he kept calling things like "My Pink Girl" or whatever color they happened to be wearing that day. He loved having playmates who were actually his age.......
We did a great bike trip around Lake Michigan--not the whole lake, just a small stretch :) Grandpa Haigh pulled the boys in a bike trailer.
They had a lot of fun wrestling in there.......
It was a great trip and we made a lot of fun memories! David loved camping and being outside all the time. We will definitely be making camping part of our vacationing repertoire. Maybe soon Chris can start taking the boys out for weekends in a tent......of course I wouldn't dream of intruding in their male bonding.........
